Introduction/specifics

Our single-group daycare center offers places for 25 children aged 3 to school entry.

It is situated in a very quiet location in the middle of a beautiful park in front of Wiblingen Abbey and boasts a spacious outdoor area with many trees and shrubs.

Indoors, we offer the children a variety of play areas and learning spaces where they can develop their skills and independence. Through diverse materials and activities, the children are encouraged to acquire new skills and knowledge in various areas of learning. In an appreciative and trusting atmosphere, we support and accompany the learning and experience process and challenge the child, according to their abilities and interests, to learn independently.

Basics

The municipal daycare centers in Ulm operate based on the infans approach to early childhood education. The infans approach places the child, and the child's interest in quality education, upbringing, and care—as represented by the early childhood educator—at the center of attention. The Baden-Württemberg Orientation Plan for Education and Upbringing in kindergartens and other daycare centers in the state of Baden-Württemberg provides a comprehensive educational concept for education, care, and upbringing. Based on the infans approach to early childhood education, this orientation plan is implemented at a high professional level. The municipal daycare centers have opted for an "open space concept." The design of the rooms and the materials provided have a direct impact on the children's learning opportunities. In this open-structured space concept, the children have access to the entire building with all its stimulatingly designed activity rooms and learning areas. This open access to all rooms allows children to explore their topics and interests in a focused manner. The children are thus offered an environment that meets their need for orientation, security, movement, and community. Although the pedagogical principles are the same in all facilities, each facility has its own unique profile.
